Comparing catamaran charter prices in Cannes requires careful reading. Many providers list an attractive headline rate — then add the skipper fee, fuel surcharge, and equipment supplement at the point of booking. The total often looks very different from the advertised price.

At Nikaia Yachts, the price you see covers everything required for a day on the French Riviera: the Lagoon MY 40 motor catamaran, a professional licensed skipper, and fuel for your itinerary. The tender for beach access, paddleboards, and snorkelling gear are on board as standard. There are no itemised extras added on arrival.

The one exception worth noting: extended routes to Saint-Tropez or Monaco — substantially further than the standard Cannes-area cruising — may carry a fuel supplement. This is always confirmed in writing before you confirm your booking. No surprises.

What's Always Included in the Price

Every charter with Nikaia Yachts includes the following without exception:

Professional licensed skipper — Kevin, with 15+ years on the Mediterranean, fully bilingual, commercial charter licence. Not an add-on, not a daily rate on top. Included.
Fuel — for the agreed itinerary covering standard Cannes-area navigation including the Lérins Islands and Esterel coast.
Equipment — paddleboards, snorkelling masks and fins, 5-metre tender with 50HP outboard for beach access, fishing rods, underwater LED lighting.
Safety equipment — life jackets for all passengers, flares, first aid kit, VHF radio, all required by French maritime regulation.

What Can Be Added on Request

The following are available with 48 hours' notice and priced separately: champagne on boarding, curated wine selection, canapés, a full catering package for lunch at anchor, and restaurant reservations at La Guérite or other sea-access restaurants arranged by your skipper.

The private charter market in Cannes operates without a standardised pricing structure, which means the same "day on a catamaran" can carry very different real costs depending on the provider. Understanding what a quote actually covers — and what it doesn't — is the most important step before booking.

The three core costs in any catamaran charter are the vessel hire, the professional skipper, and the fuel. At Nikaia Yachts, these three are combined into a single all-inclusive price. Some providers list a low vessel rate, then add the skipper as a daily fee (typically €250–400) and charge fuel separately on return. The total often lands higher than the Nikaia all-inclusive price, with the difference only becoming clear at the marina on the day of the charter.

A second variable worth examining is the equipment included. Paddleboards, snorkelling gear, and tender access are standard on the Lagoon MY 40. On some vessels, the tender is an additional hourly cost, and snorkelling equipment must be rented. For a group wanting to swim off the Lérins Islands and explore by tender, these additions can represent meaningful additional expense.

The cleanest approach when comparing quotes is to ask one direct question: what is the total cost for a group of X guests for a standard Lérins Islands day, with skipper, fuel, and all equipment included? The answer from Nikaia Yachts is €2,050 for up to 12 guests. No additions.

When to Book and Seasonal Pricing

Booking Windows

Nikaia Yachts operates year-round, and pricing does not change by season. The €2,050 day charter rate applies in March as in August. What changes with the season is availability — and for certain weeks in the Cannes calendar, availability is the limiting factor.

MIPIM (March 11–14, 2026): The largest property and investment conference in the world brings tens of thousands of professionals to Cannes. Catamaran charters for corporate entertainment during MIPIM book 6–8 weeks in advance. If you are planning a client day at sea during MIPIM, contact us immediately.

Cannes Film Festival (May 2026): The most glamorous week of the year on the Riviera. Sunset charters and fireworks evening charters fill first — typically 6 weeks ahead. Day charters have more availability but should be confirmed at least 4 weeks in advance.

Summer (July–August): Peak demand. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for any date. Weekends fill fastest.

Shoulder season (June, September, October): The best combination of warm water, light crowds, and flexible booking. June and September are consistently the months our skipper recommends for the finest sailing conditions. 1–2 weeks notice is usually sufficient.
