4 Hours · From €1,000 · Up to 12 Guests
Cannes at golden hour — from the sea. Champagne on deck as the Croisette glows. The most beautiful evening on the French Riviera, exclusively for your group.
The Sunset Catamaran Experience
There is a specific hour on the French Riviera — the hour before the sun meets the Esterel mountains — when the light turns liquid gold and the Bay of Cannes becomes a mirror. Experienced from the solarium deck of a private catamaran, anchored in the bay as the city lights begin to appear, this moment becomes something your group carries with them for years. This is what the Sunset Experience offers.
The charter departs from Port Canto in the late afternoon. Your skipper takes you to the ideal anchorage in the bay — close enough to see the Croisette and the Palais des Festivals in detail, far enough into the water to have the Mediterranean entirely to yourselves. Four hours. Complete privacy. The most beautiful setting in Cannes available to you alone.
The Lagoon MY 40's twin-hull design means absolute stability at anchor. No rolling, no seasickness, no disruption to the evening. Your group of up to 12 spreads across the rooftop solarium, the stern deck, and the panoramic saloon. Champagne appears. The sun descends. The city begins to glow. For many guests, this becomes the finest evening of their entire Riviera visit.
Duration: 4 hours from Port Canto, Cannes.
Departure time: Variable by season — your skipper advises the ideal departure to capture the best light. Typically 2–3 hours before sunset.
Included: The Lagoon MY 40 catamaran, professional skipper, fuel for the evening itinerary, full use of the boat including solarium and saloon.
Price: From €1,000 all-inclusive for up to 12 guests. No skipper supplement, no fuel surcharge.
Champagne and canapé packages are available with 48 hours' advance notice, at an additional cost. We work with a local catering partner to provide a curated selection appropriate for the occasion. For proposals, anniversaries, and significant celebrations, the catering package transforms the evening into something genuinely memorable. Contact us when booking to discuss options.
During the Cannes Film Festival (May), the evening fireworks are launched over the bay every Thursday. Watching the fireworks from a private catamaran anchored in the bay is an experience that guests describe as genuinely spectacular — 180° unobstructed views, the sound arriving across the water, the reflections in the bay below. Our skipper knows the exact anchoring position that gives the best view of the display. Film Festival sunset and fireworks charters book many weeks in advance — contact us early if you are planning for May.
The sunset charter is our most versatile experience. Couples celebrating anniversaries or birthdays. Proposals — our skipper has facilitated many, and knows how to make the moment feel completely private and perfectly timed. Bachelorette and bachelor evenings. Small family gatherings. Corporate entertaining for clients visiting for MIPIM or the Cannes Film Festival who want a memorable end to the day. Friends who simply want the most beautiful evening Cannes can offer.
For groups wanting a longer experience, the full day charter from €2,050 combines a Lérins Islands morning with a sunset return — the most complete version of a Cannes catamaran day.

The Bay of Cannes at Dusk
The Bay of Cannes has a specific quality at dusk that is difficult to capture in photographs and impossible to replicate on land. The arc of the coastline — from the Esterel mountains in the west to the Cap d'Antibes in the east — creates a natural amphitheatre that frames the setting sun. As the light changes, the water shifts from deep blue to copper to rose. The Croisette, visible from the anchored catamaran at a perfect distance, begins to glow.
Experienced from the solarium deck of a private catamaran, with no other boats nearby, this is simply one of the most beautiful things the French Riviera offers. And unlike any land-based Cannes experience — a rooftop terrace, a hotel bar on the Croisette — it is entirely private. Your group, your deck, your sea.
The physical experience of the catamaran contributes to this. The twin-hull sits completely still at anchor in calm evening conditions. There is no rocking, no engine noise once the anchor is down. The Mediterranean in the evening is a different body of water from the busy afternoon — quieter, smoother, more luminous. The transition from day to night on the Bay of Cannes, watched from the solarium of a stationary catamaran, has a quality that guests consistently describe as unexpectedly moving.
Our skipper has watched this transition hundreds of times. He knows the exact anchorage positions that provide the best sight-lines for the sunset in every season — angled toward the Esterel for the most dramatic colour, or facing west across the open bay for the widest panorama. He positions the boat before you arrive at the viewing spot, so the moment you are anchored, the show is already beginning.
Practical Details
Departure time: Sunset times vary across the year — from around 17:30 in early spring to 21:00 in midsummer. Your skipper advises the ideal departure time to capture the best light. The standard guidance is to depart 2.5–3 hours before sunset, allowing time to reach the anchorage, settle, and experience the full transition rather than only the final minutes.
Weather: Cannes enjoys more than 300 sunny days per year. Cloud cover at sunset is rare but possible. If conditions are unfavourable on the day of your charter, we discuss the options — rescheduling where possible, or adjusting the itinerary to make the most of the conditions. Your skipper makes the final call on what is possible safely.
Champagne and catering: The sunset experience is naturally associated with champagne, and many groups include a champagne package. This is available with 48 hours' notice through our catering partner. Canapé packages, wine selections, and full catering for dinner at anchor can all be arranged at the same time. Contact us when booking to discuss what suits your occasion. To explore all available catamaran charter prices in Cannes, the pricing page gives a full breakdown for 2026.
Extending the evening: For groups who want to stay at sea after dark, the underwater LED lighting transforms the catamaran for night anchoring. The stern deck and saloon are beautifully lit, the water glows below the hull. If you want to extend the charter beyond the standard 4 hours to include dinner at anchor, contact us when booking — extended sunset charters are available on request at adjusted pricing. For groups wanting the complete Riviera day, the full day charter from €2,050 combines a morning at the Lérins Islands with a sunset return to Cannes.
